When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. For student profiles, parents provide first name, grade level, and optional learning preferences. Student accounts use a unique Student ID and password—no email is required for children.

Learning Data

We collect information about student learning activity, including lesson progress, assessment results, mastery levels, time spent on tasks, and AI tutoring conversation transcripts. This data is used to personalize the learning experience and provide parents with progress reports.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of payment data.

Technical Data

We automatically collect standard technical information such as browser type, device type, and general usage patterns to improve our service.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and personalize the learning experience for each student
• Generate progress reports and analytics for parents
• Process subscription payments
• Send account-related notifications (e.g., password resets, billing)
• Improve our curriculum and AI tutoring system

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Parent accounts control all student profiles and data. Parents can review, modify, or delete their children's information at any time through the parent dashboard.

AI & Data Processing

Our AI tutoring system processes student conversations to provide real-time educational guidance. Conversations are used solely for educational purposes. We do not use student data to train AI models or sell data to third parties. Parents can view full conversation transcripts and session reports at any time.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data with:

• Service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g., Stripe for payments, Supabase for data hosting, Anthropic for AI tutoring)
• Legal authorities when required by law or to protect safety

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encrypted data at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security audits. Student login credentials are securely hashed.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for a reasonable period to allow reactivation. You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at support@flowhomeschool.com.

You have the right to:
